Where we came from!!
Though it'd no shape nor form,
but it defined us n gave us form
Though some were disabled and left maim
those who understood played the game
and thus far they have come
Though undesirable it may seem
and many may assume
but we proudly admire the same
Knowing well it made us a name
We shed tears and having no whim
yet we reap with joy with a hymn
and thus credit we give to Him
who strengthened us though weak we seem
Now we feel proud of where we came from!!!
Go back, look and inquire
You’ll see nothing to desire
And find that nothing was there
The need thereof was so dire
That we almost sank like in mire
But we didn’t give up either
For the hope of the awaiting joy yonder
We defied the prevailing hunger
For our hearts and souls were so eager
Not to despair and fall thither
Hope! …Hope was our anchor
Hope of a tomorrow that would be better….
…And today! We can look back from hither
And smile with pride of where we came from!
